The seventh annual Sustainable Enterprise Summit - the World Resources Institute's premiere business event - was a great success. Nearly 200 business executives convened to learn from experts and fellow attendees about best practices for implementing leading sustainable business strategies.
The conference, "Today's Challenges, Tomorrow's Markets" brought together innovative corporate leaders and sustainability experts to explore the themes raised in the Institute's recent publication, Tomorrow's Markets: Global Trends and Their Implications for Business, now in its second edition. The premise of the publication and this year's Summit is that the sustainable enterprises of the future will align their growth strategies with providing solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.
Specific sessions at the Summit focused on today's challenges and tomorrow's markets in energy, natural resources, transportation, water, and nutrition. Other sessions explored finance, opportunities at the base of the economic pyramid and corporate management skills for capturing new markets.
WRI's Sustainable Enterprise Program extends its gratitude to all of our speakers and special thanks to Todd Thomson, Chief Financial Officer of Citigroup, for his engaging and candid keynote remarks.
Presentations from the conference are available in the multimedia section.
