Pankaj Bhatia is co-director of the GHG Protocol Initiative within WRI’s Climate, Energy, and Pollution Program, and a leading expert in the field of corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting methodologies and calculation tools. Mr. Bhatia’s work involves design of the GHG Protocol’s corporate inventory accounting standard, the development and maintenance of the GHG Protocol calculation tools, and outreach and adoption of the GHG Protocol by businesses and GHG Programs in developed and developing countries. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Bhatia was vice president of Tata Energy & Resources Institute, a not-for-profit research organization based in Arlington, Virginia and affiliated to Tata Energy & Research Institute (TERI), New Delhi, India. From 1993 to 1998, he served TERI, New Delhi on various projects related to implementation of the Montreal Protocol in India and development of environment policy for technology transfer and capacity building in Indian industry. Mr Bhatia holds a Masters in process engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a Bachelors in chemical engineering from the Institute of Technology, Banares Hindu University, Varansi, India.
