Monika Kerdeman is the Project Coordinator for The Access Initiative and Partnership for Principle 10.

Monika came to WRI from RTKL Associates, Inc, an architecture/engineering firm where she helped coordinate marketing and communication efforts. In her free time, Monika is the Treasurer of SustainUS DC, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of young people advancing sustainable development and youth empowerment in the United States.

Monika is originally from Philadelphia where she gained a strong interest in social development issues. Her involvement was focused more at the local level, through her volunteering with organizations such as Women's Way and Philadelphia Reads. She graduated from Drexel University, with a BS in Design and Merchandising, focusing on International Relations/Business.

After college, she moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she had the pleasure of learning from and assisting with green furniture designer, Bart Bettencourt, before arriving to her current location in Washington, DC.
