Joseph Foti is an associate with The Access Initiative and the Partnership for Principle 10. Since joining WRI in June 2007, Joseph has worked on helping over 150 civil society groups in over 40 countries to assess the status of access to information, public participation and access to justice in decisions that affect the environment. Through these assessments, TAI partners identify gaps in access laws, practices, and institutions and undertake activities to build the capacity of civil society to demand better decisions for people and the environment.
Prior to joining WRI, Joseph assisted in research on election laws in Latin America and taught Math, History, and Civics for 4 years in Baltimore, MD. He holds a B.A. from Antioch College.
