Prior to his arrival at WRI, Jake Werksman was Senior Advisor to the Global Inclusion Program of the Rockefeller Foundation, where he supported grant making decisions in the area of international intellectual property rights policy and international trade policy. Prior to joining the Foundation, he served as Environmental Institutions and Governance Adviser to the United Nations Development Programme, in New York where he provided policy advice to UNDP’s headquarters and country offices. He joined UNDP in 2002, after nearly ten years at the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD), where he served as a lawyer, programme director, and Managing Director, and provided legal advice and assistance to governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of law at New York University, and an active Member of the State Bar of California.
