Under the original UNEP-WCMC database a dive-centre was defined as any place which was offering certification for diving. This was to filter out small outfits which simply filled tanks etc. Under the 2003/4 amendments this definition has largely been maintained however in a few cases it is not possible to ascertain that certification is provided. In addition it should be noted that separate entries have been prepared for dive centres operating from multiple locations.
