This dataset was developed for the Reefs at Risk Caribbean project (World Resources Institute, 2004), analysis of threats to coral reefs from watershed-based sources of sediment and pollution.

At the World Resources Institute under the Reefs at Risk Caribbean Project (see <http://reefsatrisk.wri.org/>) - Annual peak rainfall month was extracted from the Global ARC CD, (U.S. Army CERL and Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis (CRSSA), Cook College, Rutgers University, 1996) and then modified to fit land area (using a land-water mask derived at WRI)
