  • 2003 September 17. "100% Green Energy Reduces WRI's Carbon Emissions". The World Resources Institute (WRI) announced today that it is now 100 percent powered by green energy, making it the largest environmental non-profit in metropolitan Washington, DC to use renewable energy.
  • 2003 March 13. "Staples joins Green Power Market Development Group". WRI announced today that Staples has joined the Green Power Market Development Group. The announcement was made during WRI’s Sixth Sustainable Enterprise Summit in Washington, DC.
  • 2003 March 13. "Dow joins Green Power Market Development Group". The World Resources Institute and The Dow Chemical Company announced today that Dow is joining WRI’s Green Power Market Development Group. The announcement was made jointly during the Sixth Sustainable Enterprise Summit in Washington, DC.
  • 2003 March 11. "WRI lauds local developer for greening 13 D.C. buildings". The World Resources Institute (WRI) and Think Energy, Inc. today applauded the purchase of more than 24 million kilowatt hours of green power by The Tower Companies, a Bethesda-based commercial and residential building developer.
