Brazil: Cumulative Loss in Tree Cover 2000-2006

This map shows information on changes in tree cover during the period 2000 through 2006.
This map was developed by analyzing MODIS data to measure annual changes for each year from 2000 through 2006, compiling the annual change data, and overlaying the resulting data set on a map of percent tree cover in 2000.
The resulting map of cumulative forest change depicts areas of tree cover loss in red, and tree cover in a continuous shades of gree gradient from 0 (white/light green) to 100 percent (dark green).
The data on changes in tree cover have a resolution of 500 meters. The map shows an area that is 150 kilometers across.
